salamander skin

Poetry

i am dumb

not young.

youth doesn’t count

for anything.

second skin thinner

than the scales elmer’s glue gives you

modge podge thicker

than elmer’s glue but

it still dries the same.

pull off the little

brown hairs of my arm

as i shed

the skin i have pasted.

regenerative growth

i am a salamander.
